1. Booking Windows: 120-Day, 7-Day & 1-Day Prior (2:00 PM) Tatkal

In Madhya Pradesh, tiger safari tickets and permits are issued through the government's centralized portal: forest.mponline.gov.in. The regular advance quota opens 120 days prior to the date of visit at 08:00 AM IST.

📅 7-Day Window (Opens 11:00 AM IST)

Planning for the upcoming week? MPOnline releases the 7-day short-notice booking quota every day at 11:00 AM IST for upcoming visits.

⚡ 1-Day Prior Tatkal (Opens 2:00 PM IST)

Released on MPOnline at 2:00 PM IST exactly 1 day prior to the drive. Highly competitive for next-day confirmed safaris.

2. Understanding Core vs. Buffer Safari Zones

Every tiger reserve is categorized into two distinct zones with different operational regulations:

Core Safari Zones

Inviolate wilderness where vehicle numbers are strictly capped. Core zones are closed every Wednesday afternoon and fully shut during monsoon (July 1 to Sept 30).

Buffer Safari Zones

Surrounding forest corridors with abundant wildlife. Buffer zones stay open 365 days a year (including monsoon) and host exciting night safaris.
